Book canoes


The Department of Education has:
  • The fleet of over 50 canoes, including 16' and 17' Old Town Discovery and Nova Craft canoes, and 16' Mad River canoes.
  • 6 canoe trailers (5 x 10 boats, 1 x 8 boats)
  • Paddles, PFDs, throw-ropes and bailers
  • First Nations Initiatives has a big canoe for school groups to use  ​

Please clean the inside of all canoes free of mud etc. prior to returning them
Resources to replace/repair gear is limited so please treat the gear kindly!

Please complete a new form for each canoe outing your school is planning.

***Spring bookings for wrangling support must be made on or before March 10, 2023.

    Paddling gear requests

    All bookings must be self-wrangled. Schools may choose to hire wranglers. ​​
    Staff member in charge responsible to care for canoes and to report damage to gear. 

    Administrator approval is required before submitting booking.

    Canoes and gear are a shared resource.
    Taking care of the canoes and gear is an important part of the canoe program.  
    ​We rely on you to notify us if you are aware of damaged gear.
